Claudia Alexandra Paras

Claudia is a Deputy Director at Puget Sound Sage where she is responsible for program integration, organizational planning, staff development, and training. 

She first joined Sage in 2012 to work with a coalition of labor, faith, and community organizations fighting for better working conditions in the City of SeaTac.This campaign evolved into the historic Yes! for SeaTac ballot initiative that gave 6,000 workers the first $15 minimum wage in the region. It also resulted in formation of the Interfaith Committee for Economic Justice, which she continues to organize.

Claudia is a mixed-race Filipina immigrant who has over 10 years grassroots organizing and immigrant adult education experience in the Pacific Northwest. She is a founding member of GABRIELA–Seattle, a grassroots all-volunteer Filipino women’s political organization with national and international affiliates. Prior to joining Sage, Claudia worked at Highline Community College as the Interim MESA Director. She has deep experiences working with immigrant adult populations at Seattle Goodwill Job Training and Education Center, South Seattle Community College, North Seattle Community College, Kaplan University and Denise Louie Education Center.

Claudia holds a B.A. in Literature and Writing from the University of Redlands and a TESOL certificate from Seattle University.
